Ingredients
  

  • 8 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
  3. Place chicken breasts in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  4. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the chicken, making sure each piece is well coated.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the sauce has slightly thickened.
  7. For extra caramelization, brush the chicken with additional sauce and broil for 2-3 minutes until the tops are slightly charred.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
