Method
- Gather all ingredients and measure them into separate bowls for easy assembly.
- In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the gochujang paste, ginger, and garlic to the mixture. Whisk until well incorporated.
- Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should begin to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sesame seeds, green onions, honey, and black pepper.
- Allow the sauce to cool completely. The flavors will continue to develop as it cools.
- Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using for best results.
