  • 1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 3 green onions finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Gather all your ingredients and measure them out for easy assembly.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, gochujang, and sesame oil.
  3. Add the freshly grated ginger and minced garlic to the mixture.
  4. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
  5. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the honey, sesame seeds, and black pepper.
  7. Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes, then stir in the chopped green onions.
  8. Let the sauce cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.
