  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos for gluten-free option
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the yellow mustard, sugar-free sweetener, and apple cider vinegar.
  2. Add the chili powder, black pepper, white pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir thoroughly to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  4. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. In the last 5 minutes of cooking, add the butter and soy sauce, stirring until the butter is completely melted and incorporated.
  6. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before transferring to a glass jar or container.
  7. For best flavor development, refrigerate for at least 2 hours before using, though it can be used immediately if needed.
