Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easier cleanup.
- In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create a dry rub.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This helps the seasonings stick better and promotes browning.
- Brush chicken breasts with olive oil on all sides.
- Apply the dry rub evenly over all sides of the chicken breasts, gently pressing to adhere.
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they're not touching.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and brush each chicken breast generously with BBQ sauce. If using the brown sugar option, mix it with the BBQ sauce before applying.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce has caramelized.
- For an extra sticky, caramelized finish, brush with additional BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Allow chicken to rest for 5 minutes before serving to help retain juices.
