Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons gochujang paste
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • 3 green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, gochujang paste, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce begins to thicken slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in sesame seeds, green onions, and black pepper.
  5. Allow the glaze to cool slightly before using. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
