Ingredients
Method
- Trim any excess fat from the chuck roast (leaving some fat is good for flavor).
- Mix the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Rub the seasoning mixture all over the beef roast, making sure to coat all sides.
- Place the seasoned roast in the slow cooker.
- In a separate bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce (if using), and brown sugar (if using).
- Pour the sauce mixture over the roast, ensuring it's well coated.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 7-8 hours or on HIGH for 4-5 hours, until the meat is fork-tender and easily shreds.
- About 30 minutes before serving, shred the meat using two forks while it's still in the slow cooker.
- Stir the shredded meat into the sauce and continue cooking, uncovered, for an additional 20-30 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
