Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well and set aside.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Wrap each chicken breast with 2 slices of bacon, tucking the ends underneath to secure them.
- Place the bacon-wrapped chicken breasts in your prepared baking dish, seam side down.
- Pour about ¾ of the barbecue sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, reserving some for basting later.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil, baste with the remaining sauce, and continue baking uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the bacon is crispy.
- For extra crispiness, broil on high for the final 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.
