  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup soy sauce low-sodium recommended
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Add gochujang, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk until well incorporated.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. The glaze should thicken slightly but remain pourable.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in honey.
  5. Allow the glaze to cool for about 5 minutes, then add chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and black pepper.
  6. Let the glaze cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.
