- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This helps the seasonings stick and ensures crispy skin.
- In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).
- Drizzle the chicken with olive oil, then rub the spice mixture all over, making sure to get some under the skin for maximum flavor.
- Place the chicken breasts skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each piece.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then remove from the oven.
- Generously brush each chicken breast with BBQ sauce, making sure to cover the entire surface.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the BBQ sauce has caramelized.
- For extra saucy chicken, brush with another layer of BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving to keep all those delicious juices inside.
