Simple BBQ Ribs

This BBQ ribs recipe may be different than others you've tried, but for super tender ribs, give it a try! Lean, country-style pork ribs are boiled first, then baked for fall-off-the-bone tenderness.

Ingredients

  • pounds country-style pork ribs
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce store-bought or homemade
  • ¼ cup brown sugar optional, for extra caramelization
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce optional, for depth of flavor

Method

  1. Gather all ingredients and preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Place country-style ribs in a large pot and cover with water. Add garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to the water.
  3. Bring water to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer ribs, uncovered, for about 1 hour or until the meat is tender but not falling apart.
  4. Drain ribs carefully and transfer them to a baking dish lined with foil for easier cleanup.
  5. In a small bowl, combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar (if using), and Worcestershire sauce (if using).
  6. Generously brush the BBQ sauce mixture over all sides of the ribs.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-45 minutes, basting with additional sauce halfway through cooking time.
  8. For a caramelized finish, increase oven temperature to broil (high) for the final 3-5 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
