- Gather all ingredients and preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Place country-style ribs in a large pot and cover with water. Add garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to the water.
- Bring water to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer ribs, uncovered, for about 1 hour or until the meat is tender but not falling apart.
- Drain ribs carefully and transfer them to a baking dish lined with foil for easier cleanup.
- In a small bowl, combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar (if using), and Worcestershire sauce (if using).
- Generously brush the BBQ sauce mixture over all sides of the ribs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-45 minutes, basting with additional sauce halfway through cooking time.
- For a caramelized finish, increase oven temperature to broil (high) for the final 3-5 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
